If you were following Onion Browser within the first couple weeks of release, you may remember me mentioning that I’d be donating a percentage of my proceeds from the app to the Tor Project and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
I apparently can’t do that, but what I can do is tell you that today I distributed $500 to the Tor Project and $300 to the EFF. (…You know, from money that I own as an individual, and totally not on behalf of an App Store app.)
Just wanted to make sure that things were clarified due to Apple’s stance forbidding that app sales raise money for donation purposes — and for folks curious at whether I made good on my initial promises, since were folks who originally questioned the veracity of the donation claim upon the release of the app.
