Rugby

Shot rugby practice today. Was pretty interesting... Didn't even know we had a rugby team, to tell you the truth. And even though I don't really understand the game, it was really really fun to watch. A bit quicker paced than football and a lot more action than soccer. I might have to shoot a rugby game sometime.

First three will most likely be in the Maneater, on a one-page feature article. Sweetness.

Mizzou Basketball vs. Iowa State

So, I was offered a spot to shoot the Mizzou basketball game tonight, against Iowa State. Was really really really excited since getting the press pass, lol. Took about 300 shots (2.8GB because I shot RAW+JPEG) had about 30 that were in decent focus of something actually happening, and maybe like 10 that were pretty cool, and I narrowed the best to these four:

For my first sports assignment, I think I didn't do too bad at all... Mmmm...

The 82-58 loss was Mizzou's worst loss at home since 1961.

Lightbox

Got bored and built a lightbox for less than $25. 1) To take a couple pics for the newspaper. 2) Because I wanted one to be able to take random object pictures, rofl.

Santo Niño de Cebu
Santo Niño de Cebu

After uploading, I just realized the symbolism I accidentally shot. Santo Niño is the "Christ child" and right above it in the background in the picture is Christ on the cross. It's like an ironic reference to him as a youth, yet to fulfil destiny, and then as an adult, where he lies on the cross, having fulfilled most of his destiny.

Rashaad: erg, the quality~~
Me: LOL
Me: AMAZING
Me: I DIDN'T EVEN AIM FOR THAT
Me: I was looking at the picture and I was like
Me: ZOMGOMGOMG SYMBOLISM
Rashaad: /bow

So yeah. I forgot that Holly's dad works at Fuji or something like that, rofl.

Holly: Sure. And by the way, I was told to tell you to use Fuji film. -.-"
Me: Your dad, huh?
Me: I might try it. I only use Kodak Tri-X because it's old formula stuff.
Me: Big grain, very old school and rugged look.
Holly: Mom, actually. I haven't told Dad about your Kodak usage. =P
Me: LOL
Holly: *nods*

...

Me: The thought just occurred to me that if I could buy a bunch of Fuji film at bulk prices, that'd be nice. ;p
Holly: Well, if you'd like me to look into that I'd be glad to. Just tell me what you want and I'll get a price for you.
...blah blah, me listing items...
Holly: *nods* I'll ask him about it when he gets home.
